Channel & Utility Tools

The housekeeping tools — channel-level auditing plus the small utilities that are annoying to do by hand: finding a raw channel ID, running a fair giveaway draw, generating an embed snippet, and turning a URL into a QR code.

What a channel audit is actually for

Not a score. The useful output of an audit is a comparison between your best and worst performers, because the gap between them is where your next decision lives. Upload cadence and average views tell you whether you have a consistency problem or a concept problem, and those need opposite fixes.

Running the same audit on two or three channels in your niche is more informative than running it on your own once. It shows you what normal engagement looks like at your size, which is the context that makes your own numbers mean anything.

Running a giveaway people trust

A giveaway draw is only as credible as its transparency. State the entry rules and the cut-off time before you draw, draw from the comments on the specific video you announced, and show the draw happening if you can.

Two practical notes: comment pickers can only see public comments, so anyone whose comment is held for review or filtered will not be in the pool, and you should check the winner’s account is not obviously a bot before you announce.

Frequently asked questions

Why would I need my raw YouTube channel ID?+

Anything that talks to YouTube programmatically wants the ID rather than the handle: the Data API, RSS feeds for a channel’s uploads, most analytics integrations and many embed and automation tools. Handles and custom URLs can change, but the channel ID never does.

Is the comment picker random?+

Yes — it draws uniformly from the public comments it can fetch on the video you specify. It cannot see comments that are held for review, filtered as spam, or left on a different video.

Do the QR codes expire?+

No. The QR code encodes your URL directly rather than pointing at a redirect service, so there is nothing on our side that can expire, rate-limit or stop resolving. It will keep working as long as the URL does.
